Software
Cursor IDE
Can’t recommend this IDE enough. It has the best integration of AI I’ve seen in any IDE. It’s basically VS Code with a couple of features like inline code refactoring, context-aware chat and that was enough for me to switch from PyCharm. Hope JetBrains will catch up soon, because I miss their tools after working with them for more than 5 years.
iTerm2
The first thing I install on a new Mac. It’s a highly customizable terminal emulator with a lot of features, but its layout management is what I love the most. Another killer feature is the notifications when a long-running command finishes.
Craft
All my notes go here. I love the design and Markdown compatibility. It’s a great tool for organizing your thoughts and ideas. It has a dedicated calendar section for daily planning, which replaces both Notes and Reminders for me.
Raycast
One of the best productivity tools for Mac. Basically, it’s a Spotlight on steroids. Apart from opening apps and files, it can run scripts, manage clipboard history, resize windows, and much more. Spotlight just can’t compete with it.
Creating the setup of my dreams.
It’s funny I’ve spent thousands of dollars on this huge ergonomic standing desk setup, but my most productive hours are still with a laptop on a couch. Anyway, here’s what I use.
Devices
14” MacBook Pro, M3 Pro (2023)
This is just the best laptop I’ve ever owned. It’s light, yet powerful, the battery is great, and the screen is amazing. I think Apple has changed the game with their Apple Silicon chips.
Gigabyte M32U & Dell S2722QC
I use a dual monitor setup with two 4K monitors. I am definitely not using them to their full potential, but it’s a decent setup, especially since the Gigabyte monitor has a 144Hz refresh rate. Having them on a monitor arm is a great way of creating more space on my desk.
NuPhy Halo75
My favorite keyboard: wireless, looks great, doesn’t cost a fortune. I love typing with the Rose Glacier tactile switches. I’m also using their wrist rest and white deskmat, because they are a great match to my white setup.
Logitech MX Master 3S
I’ve chosen this mouse to complement my white setup. Can’t say it’s worth every dollar, but it’s a great mouse. My favorite feature is the scroll wheel that you can just flick and it will keep spinning, which is great for scrolling through long documents and logs.
CalDigit TS4
This overpriced Thunderbolt 4 dock allows me to connect everything to my laptop with a single cable: power, two monitors, webcam, speakers, microphone. It is especially useful in a multi-laptop setup, which is common when you have a work laptop and a personal one.
Audioengine A2+
These speakers are far from best, but they are small and white, which is what I needed. For high quality sound I have bigger ELAC ConneX speakers in my living room.
AKG Lyra
This is a great microphone for the price. I use it for calls at work, recording videos and playing around with audio software.
PC
This was my first PC build, and I went for a white theme. It’s quite powerful with a GeForce RTX 4080 Aero and a liquid-cooled i5-13600KF inside, but I barely use it outside of gaming.
